3 speed Toyota
The most enjoyable vehicle I have ever owned. It provided years of pure off-road driving pleasure on the scenic bush tracks.
I purchased it in 1985 from Mr Max Patton, DAIA Manager on Thursday Island.
Whilst on a pleasurable run along Evans Bay, a Bell Long Ranger landed in front of us & seven people emerged & walked towards us in the beat-up Toyota. To my surprise one of the Gentleman asked me if they could come for a ride on my car. "it reminds me so much of my time in Vietnam" he said.
I told him to just take it for run which they did & upon coming back the man said this was the most memorable part of his visit to Cape York.
