Seisia Harbour

This 40m vessel was intercepted by Australian Customs close to Thursday island. Rumour has it that this vessel was pursued at 18 Knots in the 1990's.
139 illegal chinese immigrants were on board & two jumped into the sea & swam ashore at Muralug.
When the authorities were at a loss as to what to do with the vessel, there was talk of some scheme of restoring it for a work experience project but eventually the vessel ended up placed onto a sandbank & has become a tourist attraction.
