C H WATJIN
The remains of the German 242' long (74m) 1823 ton iron ship at the southern corner of Goode Island where she was broken up.
After departing New York for Yokohama in 1903 the CH WATJIN 'lost her sticks and rudder in a breeze'. She drifted for 11 weeks before she was towed into Hall Sound, Papua, and it was decided to tow her to Singapore. The repairs bill scared them, so she was turned into a hulk and towed to Thursday Island. The vessel was eventually broken up in 1914 at Goode Island.
