Naghir (Mt Ernest Island) & Moa (Banks Island) in the background.

This 183 metre high island is a 'drowned' island, meaning that as the sea level rose & flooded the land bridge connecting Australia with New Guinea the hills & mountains became islands & reefs.
These western Islands are literally flooded parts of the Great Dividing Range.
Naghir is believed to be the Island named "Isla de Monserrate" by de Torres in 1606. (From 'The voyage of Torres' by Captain Brett Hilder)
